Heads up: November 2026 has an owner, and it arrives on the 19th. Grand Theft Auto VI launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the whole release calendar has shaped itself around it. We call it the GTA 6 effect, and the numbers in our release calendar show just how big it is.
Among the most anticipated November games we track (the list uses IGDB data, ranked by player interest), the first week of the month, November 2 to 8, has 33 releases. The second, 9 to 15, has 23. Then comes GTA week, 16 to 22: only 5, and GTA 6 alone accounts for more than 97% of that week’s interest. After that, 23 to 29 has 7, and the last Monday of the month, the 30th, has just one. Almost everyone either rushed out ahead of Rockstar or waited until after. Here is what arrives in each phase.
Before GTA: a packed first half
The month starts strong and full of Switch 2. On November 5, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time comes to Switch 2, along with Stellar Blade in its Complete Edition for Nintendo’s console and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, also on Switch 2. The same day brings Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School, a co-op puzzle game for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
Before that, on the 3rd, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered brings the giant-monster fighter back on PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Switch 2; and on the 4th come World of Warcraft: Forever on PC, the roguelite FPS VOID/BREAKER on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, and Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive on PS5 for fans of the anime.
The second week stays busy. The 10th brings Shrek 2 Remastered, the BMX adventure TANUKI: Pon’s Summer on nearly every platform, and Warhammer Survivors. The 12th is the turn of Metaphor: ReFantazio on Switch 2, the party game Sonic Pico Park and the Planet of Lana II Kindred Spirits Edition on Switch 2. GTA 6 pre-download also opens on the 12th.
GTA 6 week
On November 19, Grand Theft Auto VI launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no PC version announced. The same day brings Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, with songs from the in-game radio; the original score by Justice follows on December 11. Price, editions and everything confirmed so far are in our GTA 6 guide. That week, the other releases on the list are smaller games, such as Trees Hate You on PC on the 16th.
After GTA: waiting for the dust to settle
Those who chose not to fight Rockstar went to the end of the month. On the 24th, Gothic 3 Classic comes to consoles (PS5, Xbox Series, PS4 and Xbox One); on the 25th, the Company of Heroes 3: Operation Torch campaign launches on PC; and on the 30th, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV closes the month, bringing the real-time strategy series back on PC.
If your wallet can’t handle everything, the tip is simple: pick one or two from the first half, save the rest for after GTA, and remember December already starts busy. The full list, day by day and filterable by platform, is in our monthly game release calendar.
