Halloween is a good excuse to try horror made in Brazil, and publisher CriticalLeap gathered four Brazilian games with discounts, demos and even a free title during the Steam Scream Fest.
Enigma do Medo, from Dumativa in partnership with streamer Cellbit, is the best known of the group. The investigation horror game is set in the Ordem Paranormal universe and is 30% off on Steam for the event. A DLC for the game has also been announced.
Asleep: Act 1, from Black Hole Games, can be claimed for free for a limited time on Steam. It is a psychological horror game in which Ana Lúcia explores her own nightmares, with an atmosphere inspired by classic horror. Players who enjoy it can move on to Asleep: Act 2, which is 10% off.
Only Fog Remains follows Cynthia, a college student who visits a town to investigate an urban legend for a school project and gets trapped in a nightmare when a strange fog transforms her friends. The game is not out yet, but it has a demo and can be wishlisted.
Rounding out the list, Caravana 2000, from 2 Weird, is an action survival roguelike that mixes Brazilian street parties with supernatural hordes, absurd humor and memes. Its free demo is already on Steam.
Ordem Paranormal started as a tabletop RPG series streamed by Cellbit and grew into one of Brazil’s biggest horror universes, with books, comics and its own tabletop system. Caravana 2000 is published by 2 Wedges together with CriticalLeap. Together, the list shows how varied Brazilian horror has become: investigation, psychological horror, mystery and even comedy, all easy to try this week thanks to the discounts and demos.
