Heads up: Hull Rupture has landed. The roguelite that blends base management with tower defense, made by Konfa Games (the team behind Despot’s Game and Despotism 3k) and published by tinyBuild, came out on November 4 on Steam. Captain Pixel had already put it in our November 3 Radar, but he only gave it a quick look; now it is the real deal.
Price
Hull Rupture costs $14.99 (14.99€), with a 10% launch discount until November 18, which brings it to $13.49 on Steam (prices checked on November 4). The game’s interface and text are available in English, Spanish (Spain), Brazilian Portuguese and eight other languages.
Humans are a resource
The premise is pure chaos. Earth is gone, and humanity’s last weapon is a living ship racing toward the alien homeworld to deliver its final vengeance. In charge is Despot, a rogue AI, and the crew is made of expendable humans. Your job is to build modules that produce resources, repair damage, boost efficiency and reinforce defenses, using everything at your disposal. People included.
The aliens do not knock: they rip holes straight through the hull. You know exactly when and where they will arrive, but that is not enough. Place turrets, traps, barricades and automated defenses to funnel enemies into kill zones, and rework your layout on the fly as the threat grows.
The ship also grows as you fly, and you choose where each new section goes: upward, to force aliens through a shark turret on their way to the airlock, or downward, to squeeze in another engine powered by humans. Every new section opens a new path for the invaders.
Every route changes the run
On the galaxy map, your route decides what you face. Each encounter recalculates your resources, momentum and the projected mission duration, with safer paths and more profitable ones. There are three ship models with different layouts and systems, plus multiple game modes and difficulty settings. If you like roguelites with friends, UnderMire arrives on Steam on November 13.
