What stands out in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 is not just the reward list but a design choice made for people who play less: starting today (November 6), anyone who falls behind in the Battle Pass is caught up automatically to the tier that matches the current day of the season. Activision has detailed everything coming to the game and to Warzone on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
A Battle Pass with Auto Catch-up
The Battle Pass has 100 tiers and more than 100 rewards: Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints, Finishing Moves, Calling Cards, Weapon Charms, Reticles and Double XP Tokens. The new part is Auto Catch-up: players who fall behind are moved up to the tier reward matching the current day of the season, up to day 50, which guarantees more than 50 rewards. It requires the paid Battle Pass. Progress comes from Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone matches, and Battle Pass owners get a 10% Battle Pass XP boost for the whole season.
There are four ways in: the Battle Pass for 1,100 COD Points, the Battle Pass Bundle with 20 Tier Skip Tokens for 2,400 COD Points, BlackCell (which already includes the Battle Pass and the 20 tokens) and the game’s Vault Edition, which unlocks all Battle Pass and BlackCell content for players who log in during Season 1. Players who complete the full Battle Pass get bonus rewards with the mid-season update.
BlackCell and the XERO operator
BlackCell brings the XERO operator, an agent with no record before a classified conditioning program, plus two extra variants, “Cowled” and “Adder”, unlocked through challenges. The package adds seven Operator Skins, seven Weapon Blueprints, the season’s mastery camo track, the “Enigma Bunker” lobby and a finishing move with a dog companion that appears next to your operator in the lobby. In DMZ, BlackCell owners see upgraded visuals at the Forward Operating Base (FOB), get extra vendor slots and receive daily items that do not stack. On the Battle Pass side, the headliner is Blix, a former South Korean special forces operator recruited by Nikto.
Two new weapons, free
The Battle Pass unlocks two free base weapons. The Cronen Osprey is a 5.56 assault rifle with one of the highest fire rates in its class and an attachment that enables a dual-fire system. The CSG-35 is a compact close-range SMG that can be dual-wielded. Legendary and Ultra blueprints and mastery challenges also arrive over the season.
Store
The store gets bundles with Ultra skins, reactive designs that change with your performance in the match and Mastercraft weapons with their own inspect animations.
On Switch 2, the season lines up with Warzone’s free debut on the console and the Hajin and Zodiac maps, as we reported here. The game is also in the news for another reason: Activision has promised to remove real footage of the Itaewon crowd crush from Modern Warfare 4 after the victims’ families objected.
