Anyone who grew up renting tapes remembers Godzilla on the movie shelf and Sonic on the games shelf. Now the two share the same track: SEGA has released the Godzilla Pack for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, the first piece of Year Two content for the racer, available now.

What is in the pack

The pack adds three vehicles inspired by Toho’s monsters: the Godzilla Cruiser, the King Ghidorah Coupe and the Mothra Surf. The headliner is the Godzilla Escape course, where racers tear through a city while dodging the King of the Monsters’ atomic breath. The Jukebox also gets three new tracks: Godzilla Escape: Intro, Godzilla Escape and Godzilla Escape: Final Lap.

One important detail: Godzilla is not a playable racer, the pack adds vehicles, and players without the pack can still race online on Godzilla Escape and face opponents using the themed vehicles. In other words, the DLC does not split the online player base.

Festival and prices

From November 5 at 4 p.m. PT to November 15 at 3:59 p.m. PT, a Godzilla festival lets players earn festival points toward decals, gadgets and more. The pack is included in Season Pass Two, which also grants access to upcoming characters, vehicles and courses, and owners of the Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition get it automatically.

On Steam (US prices checked November 4), the standalone Godzilla Pack costs $5.99 and Season Pass Two costs $29.99. The base game now sells for $39.99 after a permanent price cut, physically and digitally, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

It is the start of a well-stocked lineup: in the Year Two announcement, SEGA promised Bayonetta, Duel Mode and Evangelion and Hello Kitty packs, as we covered in our Year Two story. Before that, the game had already added Aang and Katara in the Avatar Legends Pack. For anyone who grew up watching the big lizard flatten buildings on afternoon TV, it is quite a crossover.
