Relic Entertainment announced Company of Heroes 3: Operation Torch, a new campaign coming to PC on November 25. It is the first single-player mission DLC since the real-time strategy game launched, and it arrives in the year the series turns 20.
The campaign draws on the Allied offensive in Axis-occupied North Africa. Players lead an untested American force in its first major campaign against German troops, in an arc that starts with the landings, goes through the defeat at Kasserine and ends with the final assault on Hill 609. The missions adapt real events rather than recreating them exactly.
The story is told through three American soldiers, showing the war from both the command tent and the front line. Across the campaign, their points of view follow the losses, responsibilities and lessons of an army that learns by fighting.
There are 15 missions with very different setups: beach landings, stealth operations, defensive stands and large-scale assaults. Each one puts specific units and mechanics in the spotlight, pushing players to master a wide range of tools and strategies.
Between missions, a progression system rewards optional objectives with upgrades, and the choices shape how the army grows, with customization for different playstyles. The DLC’s price has not been announced yet.
Company of Heroes 3 launched in February 2023 on PC and later came to consoles. Its original campaign already had a North Africa operation, but from the German side with the Afrika Korps; Operation Torch flips the point of view and puts players on the American side, at a time when the US Army was still learning how to fight this war. If you missed the base game, the new campaign is a good reason to return to the front.
