Water Breathing, Switch 2 form: SEGA released the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 on Thursday, October 29. It is the arena fighter based on Koyoharu Gotoge’s manga and anime.

The new version brings what fighting game players want most: 60 frames per second, higher visual quality and cross-gen play between Switch and Switch 2 owners, with local and online multiplayer. And the best part: anyone who already owns the game on Switch, physical or digital, gets a free upgrade to Switch 2. The Infinity Castle Character Pass is not part of the upgrade and is sold separately.

The Digital Ultimate Edition includes the base game, the Infinity Castle Character Pass (Infinity Castle versions of Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Giyu, Shinobu and Akaza, plus Doma and Kaigaku in Versus Mode), six character unlock keys (Tengen Uzui, Obanai Iguro, Sanemi Shinazugawa, Gyomei Himejima, and the Academy versions of Rengoku and Uzui), extra outfits and Upper Moon system voices. The Standard Edition has the base game plus Academy Rengoku and Uzui. A physical Switch 2 version with the game and the pass opens for pre-order soon.

The launch coincides with a milestone: The Hinokami Chronicles series, counting both games, has passed 6 million units sold. Hinokami Chronicles 2 is also on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch and PC.

For anyone who loves anime-style combos, it is the most complete portable version so far.
