I have lived long enough to know that winning the war is the easy part; rebuilding what is left is the hard one. That is exactly the story of Romelia War Chronicle, and the anime has confirmed its second part for April 2027 in Japan. The series, airing now and streaming on Crunchyroll in the fall season, had already been announced as a split-cour run.
The news comes with music: voice actor Hiro Shimono sings the new ending theme. In the story, Romelia defeats the Demon King, but instead of glory she gets her engagement to Prince Henri broken off and is sent home in disgrace to a ruined province. With no help coming, she decides to raise an army, rebuild the towns and save a struggling kingdom. A heroine who owns the consequences and puts her house in order: I like that.
The anime adapts Ryo Ariyama‘s light novels, published since 2019 on the Shosetsuka ni Naro site and in print by Shogakukan with illustrations by Kodama. Koji Saito directs the series at studio Atra.
