Anyone who has been around since the fansub days will feel this one: Bleach has reached the end of its anime. The final part of Thousand-Year Blood War, which premiered in Japan’s summer 2026 season, wrapped up in October, more than 22 years after the series debuted on TV in 2004. To mark the farewell, the production released a special closing video.

The last arc of Tite Kubo‘s manga was split into four parts by studio Pierrot, which returned to the series almost a decade after the first anime ended. And it came back looking different: richer animation, tighter pacing, no filler and anime-original scenes that Kubo himself signed off on. According to the author, the team checked every change with him, and he liked the result.

For many fans, it is the ending the manga never had. For me, having watched Ichigo start out as a substitute Soul Reaper back when I still thought I was tall, it is good to see such a long story finished in full on screen.
