Come with me, because this one is a treat for anyone who loves collecting little creatures: Honkai: Nexus Anima, HoYoverse’s open-world creature-catching adventure RPG, will hold a “Final Closed Beta” starting November 25, 2026, on PC, Android and iOS. Sign-ups are open now: fill out the recruitment questionnaire on the official website, and pre-registration is also open on the App Store. The official launch is set for spring 2027.
What changes in this test
As with every HoYoverse closed beta, slots are limited and all player data will be wiped when the test ends. Selected players will be notified through the eligibility checker, email, SMS and other channels, and the detailed schedule will follow in later announcements. Here is what the company listed as new:
Kinder encounters: the Eidos Event Bond and Anima Event Bond are being adjusted. The first 5-star Eidos or Anima you obtain is guaranteed to be the current limited one, and obtaining the limited Eidos also lets you claim the matching Anima Companion for free. How cute is that?
New adventures and characters: new story chapters starting from the town of Iia, with new companions and formidable rivals, each with a past and a stance of their own. You may also come across Chromatic Anima, differently colored forms of the creatures, and juvenile Anima that travel at your side and grow from fledgling to formidable.
Settings and habitats: Iia reveals more of itself, from the halls of a traditional bank to a high-rise office building and a breezy lighthouse island. Two systems join in: your own RV, where you can rest at any time, and habitats you can build for your Anima while exploring the map. Interactions with the creatures expand too: holding hands, hugging and even being hoisted high in the air by an Anima.
Combat: the brand-new Nexus Arena mode officially launches, with free lineup building, matchmaking against other players and ranks, while the open world and the challenge stages get tougher enemies.
Trailer, gameplay and context
HoYoverse released a new trailer and a gameplay demo on YouTube. This is the game’s third test: the first, the Nexus Bond Test, was announced in August 2025, and the second, the Evolution Test, began on July 9, 2026. Honkai: Nexus Anima is another step by the makers of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail away from their traditional turn-based combat, and it lands on a busy schedule for the company.
My little gamer heart has it all written down: while the beta is still weeks away, there is Honkai: Star Rail version 4.7 on November 11, the Genshin Impact 7.2 update and the Petit Planet launch on December 4. The game is free to download with optional purchases, like HoYoverse’s other titles.
