Anyone who grew up on tales of castles and plague will smile at this one: God Save Birmingham, the zombie survival sim set in medieval England, is opening Beta 2, a public playtest running from November 2 to 9 on Steam. Just go to the game’s Steam page from Monday and click “Request Access” to get in right away.
The game comes from Ocean Drive Studio and is published by Kakao Games, and it leans on physics: every zombie, door and barricade reacts to what you do. After months of closed tests, Beta 2 is the second chance for most players since the first beta in June, which drew more than 67,000 people.
What is new: an alpha build of co-op to survive with friends, a save system, more ways to cook, more items to craft and new weapons. The team also acted on community feedback: each zombie type now behaves more differently, clothing keeps you warm according to its material, and more kinds of doors and windows can be latched or barricaded.
