Anyone who has followed the series since A Realm Reborn knows Fan Festival means big news, and this one delivered. At the Tokyo event, Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold, the MMO’s next expansion, launches on February 23, 2027, with early access from February 19 for pre-orders. The company also announced the game has passed 35 million registered accounts.

Producer and director Naoki Yoshida revealed the expansion’s second new job: Zephyr, a physical ranged DPS fighting with a crossbow and the help of Nephele, an avian familiar. Evercold takes players to new areas in the icebound realm of the Fourth and adds a new raid difficulty, Fierce, between Normal and Savage, a new combat mode, season-based rewards and more character creation options.

Pre-orders open on November 4. Besides early access, pre-orders get Halone’s Earring, which grants 30% more experience up to level 100, and the Wind-Up Köttr minion. There is also a physical Collector’s Box with art by Yoshitaka Amano and a Warrior of Light figure, sold only on the Square Enix Store. The event also brought a new trailer for the Evangelion crossover alliance raid, Ghosts of Desire, and a new raid series tied to Final Fantasy VII Remake.
