The second season of Reincarnated as a Sword (Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita) is changing scenery. The anime’s official website posted the third trailer, the second key visual and five new cast members for the Seedrun arc on Wednesday (November 4). The new arc starts with episode 6. As a family man myself, I trust Master to look after Fran more than almost any other isekai hero out there.
What the Seedrun arc brings
According to the official synopsis, after clearing the dungeon on the floating island, black cat tribe girl Fran and Master, her sentient sword, reach the port town of Dars, sniff out an illegal slave trading ring and rescue the children held captive. Among them are Prince Fult and Princess Satya of the Kingdom of Philias. The duo agrees to escort them by sea to the great trading city of Barbora, but trouble at sea forces the ship to dock in the sea kingdom of Seedrun, where they get caught up in a struggle for the throne, with a tyrant oppressing the people and a so-called “divine sword” in play.
The new cast
The cast announced for the arc includes Satsuki Kokubu as Fult, Yurie Kozakai as Satya, Hazuki Ogino as Miriam, Sayumi Suzushiro as Sellimea and Katsuyuki Konishi as Valuza. They join Ai Kakuma (Fran), Shinichirō Miki (Master) and Yūma Uchida (Jean du Vix).
For anyone catching up, ABEMA in Japan will stream a special about the new arc on Sunday, November 8, at 7:30 p.m. Japan time, featuring Miki and Kakuma, plus a free marathon of episodes 1 to 5 before the show and episode 6 right after it.
About the series
The second season debuted on ABEMA on September 30 and on Japanese TV (Tokyo MX and ABC TV) on October 7. HIDIVE streams it as it airs in Japan. Shinji Ishihira returns as director at studio C2C, with scripts by Takahiro Nagano, character designs by Atsuko Saitō and music by Yasuharu Takanashi. The story comes from Yuu Tanaka‘s light novels, illustrated by Llo, which began on the web in 2015 and are published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. The first season aired in 2022.
