Operation closure report: Toshi Densetsu Kaitai Center: Parallel File, the manga adaptation of the game Urban Myth Dissolution Center, has ended. Artist Emi Ishikawa announced on X that the final chapter ran in the December issue of Shueisha’s Ribon magazine, which hit Japanese shelves on Monday (November 2). Mission complete, no delays logged.
Operation file
The series launched in Ribon in April 2025, two months after the game came out. Ribon is a manga magazine aimed at young female readers, which put the game’s supernatural mystery in front of a different audience than the one playing on PC. Shueisha released the third compiled volume on August 19. A date for the final volume and any release outside Japan have not been announced.
The game behind the manga
Urban Myth Dissolution Center is a pixel-art investigation adventure made by studio Hakababunko and published by Shueisha Games. It launched on PC via Steam on February 12, 2025, and later came to iOS and Android. Players take on the role of Azami Fukurai, who works at the title’s center under the supervision of Ayumu Meguriya, a Level S psychic and the agency’s director: the job is to solve cases tied to urban myths, cursed relics, rental properties with shady histories and dimensional anomalies.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launched on October 28, adding support for the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls and a gallery to revisit the game’s artwork. On Steam, the game costs $17.99. Efficiency approved.
