Come along, because this one warms my little gamer heart: Tomb Raider turns 30 this Saturday, October 24, and Crystal Dynamics has planned a party that goes well beyond games, with collaborations in comics, collectibles, controllers and even cars.
What you can enjoy right now
Limited Run Games has released the Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration Collector’s Edition for Nintendo Switch 2. It is a physical edition with the full game on the cartridge, a Steelcase, a Trinity patch and a desk replica of the Divine Source Illuminated. Such a sweet thing for the shelf.
In comics, Lara Croft meets G.I. JOE for the first time in G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero x Tomb Raider, a five-issue miniseries from Skybound and Image Comics. For builders, Fanbrix has announced a licensed Croft Manor set with 4,355 pieces, including characters, vehicles and details from the series’ history.
There is something playable too: Lara and Jonah have arrived in The Crew Motorfest with a PvE adventure that mixes exploration, environmental puzzles, ancient artifacts, a T-Rex encounter and five exclusive vehicles.
What is still coming
On the 24th itself, 8BitDo releases two special 30th anniversary controllers. On October 27, Dark Horse publishes Chronicles of the Tomb Raider, a 184-page hardcover that tells Lara’s adventures in chronological order, with the characters, artifacts and places that defined the series.
And the biggest present comes next year: Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, the new version of Lara’s first adventure from 1996, arrives on February 12, 2027 for PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC. It is lovely to see Lara reach 30 in such good company.
