SavePoint

Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026.

This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies (such as the browser’s local storage) SavePoint (savepoint.com.br and its international edition, savepointmag.com) uses, why, for how long, and how to change your choice. It complements our Privacy Policy.

1. How consent works

Essential cookies (needed for the site to work or to remember your choice) do not depend on consent. Legal basis: legitimate interest and providing the service you asked for (LGPD art. 7, V and IX; GDPR art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).

2. How to change or withdraw consent

Click “Cookie preferences” in the footer of any page. You can accept, decline, or choose “Statistics” and “Personalised ads and embedded content” separately. In Europe the same link opens Google’s message. When you decline, we delete the Google Analytics and advertising cookies already in your browser for this site. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings; the notice will then appear again.

3. Cookies and storage we use

3.1 Essential (always on)

NameSet byPurposeDuration
sp_consentSavePointStores your cookie choice (accept, decline or custom).12 months

sp_readerSavePointSession for readers who sign in with Google (My account). Only exists if you sign in.180 days
sp_rdSavePointTells pages that a session is active (no personal data). Only exists if you sign in.180 days
sp_oauthSavePointProtects Sign in with Google against request forgery. Deleted when sign-in completes.10 minutes

sp-theme (local storage)SavePointRemembers whether you chose the light or dark theme.Until you clear it
sp-lang-dismiss (local storage)SavePointRemembers that you dismissed the language suggestion.Until you clear it

In Europe, Google’s message stores your answer in the FCCDCF and FCNEC cookies (Google, up to 13 months), which are also essential to honour your choice. Browser notifications (if you turn them on in My account) use your browser’s push subscription, not cookies.

3.2 Statistics (only with consent)

NameSet byPurposeDuration
_gaGoogle AnalyticsTells visitors apart to measure audience (most-read pages, where visits come from). Does not identify you by name.2 years
_ga_PW4MK9DS4SGoogle AnalyticsKeeps the state of your browsing session.2 years

Without consent, Google Analytics runs in “consent mode”: it writes no cookies and sends only signals without identifiers, which Google uses in aggregate. Statistics data is kept for at most 14 months.

3.3 Advertising and embedded content (only with consent)

NameSet byPurposeDuration
__gads, __gpiGoogle AdSenseMeasure and cap how often ads are shown, and allow personalised ads.13 months
__eoiGoogle AdSenseAd security and fraud prevention.6 months
IDE, test_cookie (doubleclick.net)GooglePersonalised ads and ad measurement.13 months / 15 minutes
_gcl_*GoogleAd click attribution.90 days

Ads appear only on some pages (deals, free games, releases, preservation). Without consent we show non-personalised ads with no advertising cookies; click identifiers travel in the page address instead of cookies.

Embedded videos and posts (YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, Instagram, X, Twitch, Kick, TikTok): with consent they load on the page, and those platforms may store their own cookies or local data under their own policies. Without consent they are shown as links that open on the platform.

3.4 Affiliate links

Links to stores (such as Amazon and Mercado Livre) set no cookies on SavePoint. When you click, the store may set cookies on its own site to record the referral.

4. Tools without cookies

DebugBear measures page speed without cookies and without identifying you.

5. Your rights and contact

You can confirm, access, correct and delete your data and withdraw consent at any time (LGPD art. 18; GDPR arts. 15-21). Email [email protected]. You can also complain to Brazil’s ANPD or to the data protection authority in your country.
