Cyberpunk 2077 has sold more than 25 million copies

Cyberpunk 2077 passes 25 million copies sold, CD Projekt RED reports, despite the launch problems of the RPG from the maker of The Witcher 3.

Despite its initial problems, Cyberpunk 2077 managed to reach a large number of sales.

CD Projekt RED, the same developer behind the award-winning The Witcher 3, reported that its latest game, Cyberpunk 2077, has sold more than 25 million copies so far.

And its DLC called Phantom Liberty, surpassed the mark of 3 million copies during the first week of its release.

As is well known, CP77 had many problems at launch, due to several factors.

CD Projekt was not transparent with consumers, as it did not show the game in its old-gen version, and that version for PS4 and Xbox One came out far inferior to the content that had been advertised.

The game came out with a ton of bugs and defects, bordering on unplayable in some cases and causing an avalanche of refund requests for the purchase of the game.

Sony even pulled the game from its online store so that sales could no longer be made, and only made it available again after CDK released several updates to fix the game’s most serious problems.

Despite the initial problems, CDK continued development of the game, releasing updates and fixing issues, and this culminated in the release of version 2.0 of the game, together with the Phantom Liberty expansion.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, and PS5 and Xbox Series versions were released in February 2022, free of charge for those who already owned the previous-generation versions.
