The Last of Us Part I goes gold and is ready

The Last of Us Part I goes gold: Naughty Dog finishes development on the remake, ready to launch on the planned date of September 2.

The Last of Us Part I has completed development and is ready for launch on the announced date.

Naughty Dog announced today that the remake of The Last of Us has gone gold and finished development.

In the post on Twitter, Naughty Dog thanks its “dogs” (the employees) and also its partners across the PlayStation Studios ecosystem who contributed to making the world of TLOU grow even more.

Officially announced at the Summer Game Fest, after many rumors and a full leak just hours before the official confirmation, The Last of Us Part I is the name of the remake of the original game released in 2013 for PlayStation 3, which got a Remastered version for PS4 shortly after.

According to the trailer, the game was completely rebuilt and designed to take advantage of PS5 hardware, probably using an updated version of the same engine used in Part II.

The game will be released on September 2 this year, and Sony has already confirmed that a PC version is in development, without giving a date.
