Lab assistants, the radar picked up seven signals this week. Here they are.

Evercade Nexus hits stores

Blaze Entertainment‘s cartridge handheld launched on October 30 in the US and Europe for $199.99 (£169.99, €199.99). It ships with the Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie double pack, has a 5.89-inch IPS screen, dual analog sticks and a 5,000 mAh battery, and plays every Evercade cartridge released so far. The new trick is EverSync, which links two Nexus units directly, with no internet, to play together from a single cartridge.

The First Zombie: save the world by turning everyone into zombies

From Phoenixx, the game flips the formula: you are the first zombie and build a horde across the streets of Tokyo to “save” the world. It launches in winter 2026 on Switch and Steam.

Epic Seven arrives on Steam

Smilegate‘s turn-based strategy RPG, until now mobile only, is also on Steam, alongside the launch of the new Foundry server.

Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds reveals Hero Mode

Ocelot Technologies‘ tactical RPG, in Steam Early Access with a free demo, revealed Hero Mode (top difficulty with a single save), a new dungeon in an ancient elven library and new abilities ahead of version 1.0.

Project Hail Mary: Journey Among the Stars shows off the ship

Maze Theory showed the Hail Mary ship in a new teaser for its mixed-reality adventure based on Andy Weir’s novel and film, with Ryland Grace and Rocky. No date yet.

Razer Mako X gets into End of Abyss mode

Razer partnered with Section 9 Interactive: the Mako X desktop speakers have Chroma RGB lighting that reacts to what happens in End of Abyss, a sci-fi action game set in an abandoned underground complex.

Purrfect Together: two cats, one hug button

Husband-and-wife team Pawel and Ewa, from Warsaw, shared the first teaser for Purrfect Together: Two Cozy Cats, a cozy co-op game about cats Gugu and Mimi, with a button to hug your partner. It is coming to PC with local, online and solo play; the Steam page is live and a demo is planned before the end of the year.

Sources: Blaze Entertainment, Phoenixx, Smilegate, Ocelot Technologies, Maze Theory, Razer and the Purrfect Together developers (press releases).

Hardware, PC and performance

Doutor Overclock claims a PhD in thermal dissipation; the diploma, curiously, has never left the lab. He covers hardware, PC requirements, performance patches and upscalers, and turns spec sheets into plain English. He apologizes in advance for the dry joke in the third paragraph.
