Attention, dear lab assistants: this season, the deadliest weapon is not a weapon, it is information. EA and Respawn released the gameplay trailer for Apex Legends‘ new season on Thursday, October 29. It arrives on November 3.
The spotlight is on Crypto, reconfigured thanks to a firmware update from his sister, Mila: his role shifts from passive to aggressive intel gathering. His Surveillance Drone now runs on a battery instead of a cooldown, so it can be recalled and redeployed without a long wait, and it gets a new Sentinel Mode that marks enemies in sight. His EMP Ultimate can now be triggered with a single button press. Mwahaha, what a lovely toy.
The arsenal adds the Akimbo Wingman: two revolvers at once for double the damage. Strongholds replace Supply Pods with high-tier loot (care package weapons, corrupted attachments and EVO for the whole squad), but opening them takes time and sets off an alarm that tells everyone nearby exactly where you are; they spawn with cover and a translucent shield to help you hold the position. Revenant becomes more aggressive with a shorter Ultimate cooldown and a faster tactical, while Lifeline gets a shorter D.O.C. cooldown, self-healing while gliding and a shield while reviving teammates.
In Ranked, Diamond and higher lobbies get Legend bans by vote: each player casts one vote, and the more votes a Legend gets, the more likely it is banned for that match. The season launches on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC (EA app, Epic Games Store and Steam). Apex Legends is free to play.
