Alpha Nomos, the rhythm-action roguelite from independent studio RibCage Games, is out now on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The studio’s own pitch sums it up: think Hi-Fi Rush meets Hades.

Alpha Nomos, rhythm-action roguelite

Something broke the music

Something broke the music, and the world broke with it. Cities stand empty, the circus has turned on its audience and the puppets that once performed now hunt anything that moves. You play as Cello, fighting these corrupted puppets with instruments recorded live in the studio, such as the Xyloblades, a pair of xylophone swords.

Rhythm is the core of the combat rather than a layer on top, according to RibCage. Every input lands exactly when it’s pressed, with no quantization snapping it to the beat, so timing is a real skill. Power-ups remix every run.

Price

The game costs US$17.99 and is 10% off on Steam for the first 7 days.
