CD Projekt RED announces a free The Witcher 3 remaster for those who already own the game, ahead of the new DLC for Geralt's RPG.

The Witcher 3 will get a free Remastered version for all of its customers.

Going completely against the grain of the games industry, which tends to charge even for small improvements, CD Projekt RED announced that its big hit The Witcher 3 will get a remastered version for current consoles and PC.

Confirming some old rumors, the Polish developer confirmed some time ago that The Witcher 3 would get a new DLC, and many people found it strange for a game more than 10 years old to get a DLC out of nowhere. This remastered version of Witcher 3 is the answer.

Bringing several improvements that I won’t list here out of laziness, this version will be available at the end of September, more precisely on the 29th. And everyone who owns any version of the game will be entitled to this new version at no additional cost.

I myself am an example of that: I bought Witcher 3 for PS4 on the PSN in 2015, and when the native PS5 version came out in 2022, I got the upgrade and the DLCs (which I didn’t have) completely for free. And now I will be entitled to this version without spending another cent.

The next paid content, Songs of the Past, got a short trailer and confirmation that it will be released in 2027, still with no set date.
