Capcom: 93% of its games sold in fiscal 2026 were digital

Capcom

Capcom released its fiscal report and said that 93% of its games sold in fiscal year 2026 were sold digitally.

And Capcom’s plan is to increase digital even more next year, reaching more than 95%.

Sony and Microsoft have also reported similar scenarios, where the largest share of games sold comes from digital stores, and Nintendo made a price change, under which its upcoming releases will have a lower price on its digital store compared with traditional physical media.

With this, the chances increase that the next generation of consoles will not have a disc drive in the standard version, which besides helping lower the final price also directly increases sales on their own stores.
