Alice Games confirmed that Broventure: The Wild Co-op arrives on Steam on May 15. It is an adventure roguelike that can be played solo or with up to three friends online, facing mysterious lands, monster hordes and huge bosses in procedurally generated runs.
Between one run and the next
Besides combining skills and forging weapons, the group collects resources to expand the camp, unlock characters and improve upcoming runs. Facilities such as the Library, which tracks skills, and the Arsenal, focused on crafting equipment, provide the meta-progression layer. There are several biomes and enemies, and the hand-drawn 2D art draws from Cult of the Lamb and Don’t Starve.
The studio also develops mobile games such as Darkest AFK and is working on PC and VR projects.
Our take
I love it when a co-op roguelike gives you a reason to return to camp: that is where the group argues about the next build. The visual references are great company, and the curiosity now is whether four-player chaos stays readable on screen.
