And with that, the Xbox Series became Microsoft’s second best-selling console in the country.

As reported by Famitsu magazine, the Xbox Series surpassed the mark of 500 thousand units sold in Japan, becoming Microsoft’s second best-selling console in that country.

The split between the X and S models was almost tied, with a slight advantage for the cheaper model.

Series X: 222,000 (44% of the total)

Series S: 285,000 (56% of the total)

In the previous generation, the Xbox One and its variants were practically invisible to the Japanese, and sold very few units during the time it was on sale there.

Microsoft’s current console, with almost 3 years of life, has already managed to become its 2nd best-selling console there.

  • 1st – Xbox 360 – 1,616,128 units
  • 2nd – Xbox Series X/S – 507,539 units
  • 3rd – OG Xbox – 472,992 units
  • 4th – Xbox One – 114,831 units
