Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising (GBVSR) is a sequel to the previous game, adding several new features.
Granblue Fantasy Versus is a fighting game developed by Arc System Works and published by Cygames, the owner of the mobile game franchise Granblue Fantasy.
The fighting game was released in March 2020 for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, and initially has 12 characters, but adding the characters from the two Character Passes, there are 25 playable characters in total.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising will be released in 2023, with a simultaneous worldwide release on PS4, PS5 and Steam. There is no confirmed date yet.
Obviously bringing graphical improvements, new stages, new characters, new gameplay mechanics and new modes, plus cross-play between platforms and Rollback Netcode so online matches run smoothly.
Rollback Netcode has always been one of the most requested features for the first Granblue Fantasy Versus, to improve the quality of online matches, but it probably did not come because Arksys was already developing it for this new version announced today.

Another new feature is called Ultimate Skill, which is a stronger version of the EX moves, which are already a stronger version of the characters’ special moves.
The Lobby has also been improved, and now includes mini-games in the same style as those in Fall Guys.

For those who do not know it, Arc System Works (or Arksys for short) is the creator of the fighting games Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, and also developed the famous Dragon Ball FighterZ for Bandai Namco, and recently DNF Duel for Nexon, a fighting game with characters from the Dungeon & Fighter franchise, also known as Dungeon Fighter Online.
