Quantic Dream, the studio that developed the game, reported that the PC versions of its games, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human, saw a big sales increase during 2022, and that it expects sales to keep this good pace in 2023.

Detroit: Become Human has already sold 2.5 million units on PC, reaching more than 8 million units sold worldwide, combining the PC and PlayStation versions. This total does not include copies obtained through game subscription services.

In May 2022, Quantic Dream had reported that the game had reached 7 million units, so another 1 million units were sold in the last 7 months of 2022.

Detroit: Become Human was developed by Quantic Dream and published by Sony in May 2018, exclusively for PlayStation 4 until then. In December 2019, the game got a Windows PC version.

Also in 2019, Quantic Dream became a publisher, and in 2022 it was acquired by NetEase Games.
