Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales came to PC on November 18, 2022, on Steam and the Epic Games Store, and PlayStation marked the date with a launch trailer for the new version.
The port was done by Nixxes Software, a PlayStation studio, the same one that had released Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC just three months earlier. The features highlighted for the PC version were:
- NVIDIA DLSS 3 and DLSS 2;
- NVIDIA Reflex;
- DLAA;
- ray-traced reflections;
- ray-traced shadows;
- unlocked frame rate;
- DualSense support, with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers;
- full mouse and keyboard support;
- ultrawide monitor support.
Besides NVIDIA’s technologies, the version also supports AMD’s FSR 2.1 and Intel’s XeSS, with several graphics options to tune performance.
Miles Morales originally came out in November 2020, on PlayStation 4 and as a PlayStation 5 launch game. Developed by Insomniac Games, it is a spin-off sequel to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man. The story takes place a year after the first game: Peter Parker travels abroad for a few weeks and leaves Miles as New York’s only Spider-Man. He has to balance his hero life with supporting his mother, Rio Morales, a city council candidate, while protecting Harlem, his new neighborhood, from a war between the Roxxon corporation and the criminal army Underground, led by the mysterious Tinkerer.
What came next
The PC version received generally favorable reviews, with praise for the combat, story and technical improvements, and some complaints about its short length. The sequel, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which directly follows the events of Miles Morales, was released for PlayStation 5 in October 2023.
