AION 2 tops 400,000 concurrent players on Steam

AION 2 is off to a flying start. Right after its official launch on October 5, NC America’s open-world action MMORPG passed 400,000 concurrent players on Steam. The free-to-play game also holds the top spot on three of the platform’s charts.

According to NC, AION 2 currently leads these three Steam charts:

Top Sellers – ranked by revenue;
Popular New Releases;
Popular Free to Play.

The momentum dates back to Early Access, which started on September 30. Since then, the game has held first place on Steam’s global Top Sellers chart and leads in 15 territories, including Brazil, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan and Australia.

War For Atreia streamer campaign

NC is also running the War For Atreia campaign, a faction-based competition between 60 streamers from North America, Europe and South America. The event runs from September 30 to October 14, and viewers of participating creators’ streams can earn Twitch Drops.

What is AION 2?

AION 2’s signature feature is flight. Players can fly freely across a world 36 times larger than the original AION, explore underwater areas and take part in aerial combat in both PvE and PvP content.
The game is developed by NC (formerly NCSOFT), the South Korean studio founded in 1997 and known for franchises such as Lineage, Blade & Soul and Guild Wars. In the West, it is published by NC America, based in Irvine, California.
