The Witcher 3 will get an update for current-generation consoles in December.

CD Projekt RED announced today that the acclaimed The Witcher 3 will get its promised next-gen update on December 14, free for everyone who owns the game.

The version, called The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition, will be released for PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC.

This new version will support ray tracing, improved loading times and integrated mods to improve the gameplay experience, plus added content based on Netflix’s Witcher series.

Those who already own the digital version will get the upgrade at no additional cost. But those with a physical copy will have to wait a bit longer, on a date yet to be announced.

The older versions (PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch) will also receive an update with improvements and the Netflix series-based content.

Next week, the CD Projekt RED team will stream on Twitch.tv showing gameplay of the new version.
