Rage 2 developer says the game’s focus is not only on vehicles

Avalanche Studios senior designer Loke Wallmo says Rage 2, due in 2019 for PC, Xbox One and PS4, is not only about vehicular combat.

Rage 2, being developed through a partnership between id Software, creator of DOOM, and Avalanche Studios, developer of the Just Cause series, has proven to be an interesting open-world post-apocalyptic shooter. In the trailers released so far, a certain focus on vehicle combat could be noticed, or at least that is what we expected until the developer went public, in an interview with GamesTM, to clarify things. According to Avalanche Studios senior designer Loke Wallmo, the game will not focus only on vehicles, because they want to give players the freedom to play the way they want.

“It’s different in the sense that the gameplay is focusing on more weapons on vehicles, more explosions and gadgets and more over-the-top things like that. So, it creates a different starting point for where you want to go with the vehicles. But we’re not focusing too much on vehicles.”

Judging by the developer’s words, Rage 2 will be diverse enough for players to play it however they like! Rage 2 launches in 2019 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
