Anyone who grew up reading Lovecraft in cheap paperbacks and playing horror adventures on an old PC will like this one: Stygian: Outer Gods, the cosmic-horror survival RPG from Misterial Games and Fulqrum Publishing, leaves Early Access with its full release on October 26, 2026, on Steam and GOG.

The game is set in the same universe as Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones and goes back to the events before the Black Day. You play Jack Harrison, who joins an expedition to Kingsport, a once-prosperous harbor town now decrepit and almost abandoned, looking for his missing father. The boat is wrecked, and Jack soon comes face to face with the nightmares that have haunted the place for centuries.

Sanity as fragile as life

As in the good old days of exploration horror, survival takes more than firepower. Resources are scarce, you have to craft items and remedies, and threats hit both body and mind: mental afflictions can change the experience, while character progression lets you tackle challenges in different ways. Investigation, combat and choices go hand in hand, with multiple paths and decisions that can have irreversible consequences.

Version 1.0 completes the story and brings together what was introduced during Early Access, which began in April 2025, plus a new chapter, puzzles, artifacts, weapons, enemies and a boss encounter. Kingsport ranges from desolate streets to a mysterious family mansion, abandoned mines, fog-shrouded forests and otherworldly realms.

Price and extras

The full game costs $24.99 and launches with a 20% discount. Alongside it come the Official Digital Artbook, with nearly 200 pages, the Official Soundtrack and The Heretic’s Arsenal Pack, which adds an artifact and two melee weapons. Everything is also available together in the Deluxe Edition Bundle with a 10% discount.
