ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE tops 1 million copies faster than any game in the series

Bandai Namco announced that ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE has sold over 1 million copies worldwide, faster than any other game in the franchise’s 30-year history. It is the first mainline entry in seven years.

The game entered early access on September 29 and launched worldwide on October 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. According to the publisher, it is already the second highest-rated ACE COMBAT on review aggregators, behind only 2001’s ACE COMBAT 04: Shattered Skies.

Campaign and the series’ biggest multiplayer

Developed by Bandai Namco Aces, it features a cinematic campaign as an elite pilot in a war-torn fictional world. Online play is the most complete in the series, with cross-play, PvE and PvP modes and a virtual Air Base for up to 100 players to customize, train, track rewards, play classic Bandai Namco arcade games and form squads.
