Come along, there’s news for those who like riding a virtual tram: Austria’s ViewApp, creator of City Transport Simulator: Tram, announced on May 7, 2025 that it will handle the publishing of the game and the City Transport Simulator brand on its own, after the partnership with Dovetail Games.

What changes for players

According to the studio, nothing is lost: current features, updates and content stay as they are, and support continues. The idea is to bring development closer to community feedback and plan the series for the long term. CEO Daniel Buda said: “With this step, we can respond even more effectively to the needs and wishes of our community”. He also promised to reveal the franchise’s roadmap at a big online event “in a few weeks”, still in May.

CTS: Tram is on Steam, the Epic Games Store, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, the Microsoft Store and GeForce NOW. ViewApp, from Vienna, has existed since 2018 and also made TramSim and CityDriver. More at citytransportsimulator.com.

How cute

I find it adorable when a studio decides to hold the wheel (or the tram crank) of its own game. Now it’s a matter of waiting for the event to see which new tracks are coming.
