Come along, this adventure is for playing hand in hand with friends: Oppidum, from Spain’s EP Games, a studio founded by former Temtem developers, arrived on May 7, 2025 for Steam, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, with cross-play across all platforms.
An island to save
The story takes place in Insule, an island that was once magical and is now overrun by a corruption that affects creatures and landscapes. You can play alone or with up to three friends, building a camp, gathering resources, hunting, farming, cooking and crafting equipment. Co-op games keep evolving with everyone’s actions, even if each person plays at different times.
There are more than 50 hours of narrative content, four difficulty levels (Relaxed, Light, Normal and Hardcore), character customization with hairstyle, color, body shape and voice, and accessibility options such as interface visibility adjustment and damage multipliers.
My little gamer heart
How sweet to have a Relaxed mode in a survival game: you can invite that friend who only wants to plant and cook while the rest of the group takes on the corrupted creatures. And a world that stays alive even when each person joins at a different time is a kindness for those with a messy schedule.
