Alruna and the Necro-Industrialists: A Pixel Art Puzzle-Platformer Full of Rage

Released in March for Nintendo Switch and also available for PC via Steam, Alruna and the Necro-Industrialists is already catching players’ attention with its challenging puzzles and impressive pixel art graphics. Explore a dark and mysterious underground world, full of mazes and secrets.

An Underground Journey Full of Mysteries

As the nymph Alruna, you will jump, slide and run through frightening underground mazes in a world devastated by mechanical greed. Your mission is to uncover the truth buried beneath the surface – the story, the world and humanity itself.

Musical Inspiration and Political Themes

Developer Niklas Hallin reveals that the phrase “Sleep now in the fire. Preach now to the choir,” present in the game, is inspired by the music of Rage Against the Machine. He highlights that the narrative incorporates song lyrics and addresses themes such as exploitative industrialism, hierarchical ideologies and oppression.

Hallin emphasizes that, despite the heavy themes, the game is not about apathy or hopelessness. The fight is the central point, and rage is fuel for resistance. Above all, Alruna is a furious game.

Inspired Soundtrack

ALRUNA’s heavy 8-bit soundtrack is courtesy of Burning Planet, which evolved from a music producer into an indie game publisher. Burning Planet Digital approaches games as if they were bands, seeking a strong, direct impact.
