What a lovely piece of news! The Steady Pulse update for Dead by Daylight, announced on May 6, 2025, introduces Orela Rose, a paramedic who enters the Fog wanting not only to survive but to save as many people as possible. After losing her best friend in an accident, she dropped out of university and became an EMT, where her calm made all the difference.
Orela’s three perks
- No Harm Done: when healing another survivor, she gains healing speed and Skill Check progress for each of their Hook States.
- Duty of Care: when healthy, she takes a Protection Hit to give nearby survivors a temporary Haste boost.
- Quick Response: if not Exhausted, she quickly leaves a Locker, becomes Exhausted and briefly reveals the Killer’s Aura.
A gesture outside the game
Behaviour teamed up with the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation, from Montreal, and will donate all profits from Orela’s 2 paramedic skins sold from May 6 to 27, 2025, in support of hospitalized young people. A community activity will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Archives were also renamed and are now called The Rift, starting with OVERGROWTH: all Quests (the former Challenges) can be active at the same time. The Shadows and Forest Collection arrived on May 6, Steady Pulse brings the EMT uniform and the Hacylon Dreams look, Guardians & Shadows returns on May 13, and Chrysalis and Cats & Dogs get items on May 20 and 27, including a look with Jonesy for Ellen Ripley.
Our take
A survivor made to take care of others in such a cruel game is a lovely contrast, and tying it to a real donation makes it even more special. Her perks call for team play, so get your friends ready!
