The 31st update for Neverwinter, called Red Harvest, is now available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The free Dungeons & Dragons MMORPG sends players to Thay to help the resistance against the Red Wizards and the lich Szass Tam, who rules the region with his Zulkir council.

What comes in the module

The new Adventure Zone, Tyraturos, Tower District, has a map inspired by the Thay of the film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Summoned by Sergeant Knox, adventurers follow a three-act campaign that ends with climbing a structure in the north.

The “Shackles of the Godhead” trial has three difficulties: Normal, which enters the random trial queue; Advanced, for intermediate players; and Master, which favors mechanics over raw stats. The Protector’s Jubilee and the Celebration of Liira return, and the “Dead to Rites” Battle Pass has 3 phases with 9 milestones each, including the companion Rath Modar.

The game can be downloaded at www.playneverwinter.com.

Our take

Master Mode valuing mechanics over stats is the technically interesting part: it is the classic way for a long-running MMO to stop gear from solving everything. Thirty-one updates later, Neverwinter knows exactly which button to press.
