Crunchyroll and A PLUS JAPAN opened global pre-registration for Mirren: Star Legends, a fantasy RPG from Inchi Games that was a hit in China as Millennium Tour ELF. The game is free-to-play with in-app purchases and is coming to iOS and Android, with release indicated for the (northern hemisphere) spring of 2025.
Spec sheet
The player becomes the new Lord Oracle and summons heroes called Novas and Asters for turn-based strategic combat. The story covers 120,000 years of Mirren, with angels, humans, elves, demons, orcs and dragons. There are 43 characters at launch, and casual minigames are promised for later.

Our take
Using a streaming subscription as a battle pass is a curious business architecture: the gacha gets a ready-made paying base and Crunchyroll gets one more reason for nobody to cancel. It remains to be seen how many of the 43 heroes survive the first balance patch.
