Windblown Receives the Sanctuary Update: New Biome, Weapons and Much More!

Motion Twin, the independent studio behind the hit Dead Cells, today released the Sanctuary update for its action roguelite, Windblown, available in Early Access on Steam since October. This update brings a series of novelties that promise to increase the fun and the challenge even further.

New Biome: Obsidian Sanctuary

Get ready to explore the dangerous Obsidian Sanctuary, a new biome located in the depths of the Vortex. Face a relentless boss, the Sentinels, and discover the mysteries of this challenging new environment. The soundtrack, composed by Danger, promises an immersive experience.

A New Quest and Expanded Lore

To access the Obsidian Sanctuary, players will need to help Carlos, a new character who arrives with the update. Besides opening the way to the new biome, Carlos will reveal secrets about the Ark’s past and its inhabitants. This is the first of many quests planned to enrich Windblown’s lore.

New Weapons, Relic and Skin

The Sanctuary update includes four new weapons: Fishing Rod, Sharp Sisters, Sentinels Wings and Elder Sword, each with unique attacks, counterattacks and critical hits. A new relic, Cronos Catch, lets you slow down enemies and projectiles. Finally, a new Obsidian look to customize your character.

Improved Remains System

Besides the new content, the Sanctuary update brings general gameplay improvements, making the experience even smoother and more fun. Co-op mode, for example, received improvements to the Revenge function.
