Sea of Stars, a turn-based RPG inspired by retro classics, has finally been released.
Indie studio Sabotage, creator of the excellent The Messenger, released its newest game today: Sea of Stars.
Unlike the previous game, which was an action side-scroller heavily inspired by Ninja Gaiden, this time the inspiration is the classic Japanese RPGs with turn-based battles of the 16-bit era.
When playing, the game gives me the feeling that it is a mix of Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG, with very colorful, multi-layered scenery.

The game received very positive reviews and has a score of 89 on the Metacritic aggregator, based on reviews of the PC version.
The console versions have different scores, since they have fewer reviews.
For the first time since the creation of game subscription services, the game is being made available (in the famous catchphrase) day one on both Game Pass and PSN Plus (Extra and Deluxe tiers).
Usually a game arrives day one on only one of the services, and for contractual reasons would arrive later on the competitor’s service.
The game is available on PC Steam, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X.
