The giant Chinese conglomerate Tencent acquires yet another studio for its arsenal.
The global entertainment giant Tencent, currently the owner of several studios such as Riot Games and of 40% of Epic Games, developer of Fortnite, has just announced the acquisition of Turtle Rock Studios, developer of the acclaimed Back 4 Blood.

It was announced that the company’s independent work will continue at its headquarters in California, with its founders still in charge. According to those involved, the acquisition should open up horizons for the expansion of both the studio and the zombie-annihilation title.
“We are big fans of Turtle Rock’s games, especially their approach to creating cooperative online games. We can’t wait to see what comes next and are very excited to be part of this future.”
Eddie Chan of Tencent Games
Back 4 Blood is available on Steam or for free to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
