You have probably seen the famous meme from the last generation: “My dad works for Microsoft and he’s going to ban you.”
Well, if you use that meme on Sony’s platform, the PlayStation Network, you can get your account banned.
PSN user Hamed Jalalie, who most often plays Fortnite on his PS4, was accused by another player of being a hacker. It is understandable that he thought so after being killed by Hamad with a sniper rifle from 260m. Both parties exchanged some messages on PSN, and after the argument Hamad was permanently banned by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
The other PSN player wanted to report Hamad to Epic Games, so Hamad replied: “Bahahahahaha my dad works at Sony he’s going to ban you.” It is a reference to the popular meme from the Xbox 360 days.
However, Sony banned him for making a joke, saying the company is against such false claims. In an email received by Hamad:
“We are writing to inform you that your account has been permanently banned. We made this decision based on your online activity in the message. Pretending to be, or by association being able to influence, an employee of Sony, its affiliates or third-party partners is against our code of conduct. You will no longer be able to access online multiplayer, the PlayStation Store and other network features. Your account will not be reinstated at any time. We take the decision to ban an account very seriously, and we only do so after one of our moderators has carefully reviewed the situation. PlayStation Support, therefore, cannot reverse this moderation decision. Yours sincerely, SIEE moderation
Sony Interactive Entertainment”
So, what did you think of this conduct by Sony?
