Xbox to use Reddit as one of its official discussion platforms

Starting today, Microsoft Xbox will use Reddit for official Xbox discussions.

An official part of Reddit will now be made official by Xbox, for Insider discussions and brand users. This new “subreddit” is a partnership between Xbox community users, the Reddit team and the Xbox Insider Program. Just like in the forums, this new space will be a place to discuss features, updates and internal game tests, as well as another easy way to give feedback and interact with other Xbox members.

The Preview Forums will be locked in the coming weeks so that Insider discussions can be kept together in the new subreddit. The rest of the Xbox forums will still be open for questions and for resolving users’ doubts.

The site Hoje é um bom dia has a good explanation for those who do not know Reddit. “A social network where people submit links to news, videos, or images and other users upvote or downvote them. The effect of this is that the best posts end up populating the site’s front page, giving you a good overview of everything relevant on the internet at a given moment. Subreddits are like sub-forums about a specific topic, and we usually refer to them using the syntax /r/SubredditName.”
