It’s here, and it came in hot: After more than three years in Early Access, Astro Colony has reached version 1.0. Polish studio Terad Games’ sci-fi sandbox blends automation and colony building in an infinite, procedurally generated universe.

Colonies across space
You recruit astronauts, mine voxel planets and link colonies into a galactic network, keeping your crew fed, sheltered and breathing while you build conveyor and pipe lines to automate production.
- 70+ technologies to research
- Fully destructible voxel planets
- Movable, dockable stations
- Online co-op and Steam Workshop support
Full release
1.0 brought hundreds of improvements and quality-of-life updates, and Early Access saves carry over. The game costs US$19.99, runs on Windows, Mac and Linux and is “Playable” on Steam Deck. Overall Steam reviews are “Very Positive” at 80%.
What there is to do
Check out the package: version 1.0 launched on Steam on June 2, 2026, and the universe is packed with different biomes and hundreds of plants to discover. Beyond colonies, you can build vehicles and design blueprints of any size, made in-game or imported from the library.
Space isn’t all peace and quiet, either: unexpected events pop up along the way, and danger shows up when you least expect it. In online co-op, you can bring your friends along or join lobbies hosted by other players.
On PC, the game has achievements, Steam Cloud saves, Family Sharing and partial controller support. You can also save anytime and adjust the difficulty, text size and colors, a big help if you want to play at your own pace.
If you’re into automation and colony building, let’s get building.
